한양대학교 건축학부는 그동안 연 1회 간행하던 Hanyang Architecture Review의 스페셜 에디션으로 2021년부터 일정 기간에 한해 연간 출판되는 전문학술도서 형식의 아키라우터archirouter를 기획하게 되었다. 스페셜에디션의 의도는 건축의 근본적 문제의식들을 다시 고민하면서 그 시각에 비추어 우리 시대의 현상들을 직시하기 위함이다. 이렇게 건축 중심의 문제들에 사고를 집중시키고 또 건축의 경계 너머로 지평을 확장시키면서 건축인들에게 항시 필요한 이론적 담론과 새로운 건축의 방향성을 탐구하는 밑거름의 일부로 기여하고자 한다. 이를 위해 과거부터 존재했던 근원적 질문들을 재인식하고 그에 기대어 전례 없는 현재의 조건 및 상황을 접목시킬 때 또 다른 각도의 건축적 사고로써 숙고할 수 있을 것이라 생각한다.

Archirouter is a special edition of Hanyang Architecture Review that has been publishing once a year by the Department of Architecture at Hanyang University. It is an academic form of a book that will be published annually starting in 2021 as a special edition for a certain period of time. The aim of the special edition is to reconsider the fundamental problems for the architecture of our time through the lens of historical perspective. By focusing on the core issues of architecture, it is possible to expand beyond the horizon and the boundaries of architecture. archirouter intends to contribute to the development of the theoretical discourse and direction of contemporary architecture that are always necessary for architects and beyond. Getting back to the fundamental questions that existed in the past and by closely examining and grafting them into the unprecedented current conditions and situations of today, it is possible to gain an advanced understanding and a different perspective of thoughts in architecture.
