Bio

황희준 교수는 한양대학교에서 건축공학사와 석사를 마치고, 미국 Texas A&M University에서 건축석사(M. Arch.)와 박사(Ph.D.)학위를 취득하였다. Minneapolis, Minnesota에 있는 The Leonard Parker Associates, Architects. 에서 건축가로서 실무를 수행했으며, Minneapolis convention center등 다수의 convention center 프로젝트와 미국과 한국의 관공서, 학교, 복합 사무시설 등에 관한 설계 프로젝트에 참여한 경력을 갖고 있다. 1999년 한양대학교에 부임한 이후 설계와 건축연구를 병행하고 있으며 부산국립국악원 현상공모 2등 당선 등의 설계참여와 인지심리를 바탕으로 한 디자인방법론, 건축과 도시공간에서의 환경행태 및 인간심리에 대한 연구를 수행하고 있다.

Professor Whang received Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Architectural Engineering at Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea and later Master of Architecture and Ph.D. at Texas A&M University, U.S.A. He practiced at the Leonard Parker Associates, Architects, in Minneapolis, Minnesota as a senior architect, and was participated numerous architectural projects including Minneapolis convention center, government, school, and office building projects in USA and Korea. After joining the faculty of Hanyang University in 1999, Prof. Whang pursued his specialties in architectural design and research. His research specialties are design methodology based on cognitive science and environmental behavior/psychologies in urban or architectural spaces. He teaches courses in social and cultural processes in architectural design, environmental behavior and research methodology. Current research activity includes human body and mind conscious design, quantitative research on aesthetics, and post-occupancy evaluation.
